Any time your freedom is taken it is rough. Plus, everyone I know who has been a part of the penal system says County is the worst because they are trying to teach you a lesson/punish you while state and federal prisons focus more on just housing prisoners long term and keeping violent offenders as mellow as possible to maintain a minimum level of safety for the jail employees. Not to mention the fact Alachua County jail was notorious for letting the prisoners police the cell blocks with jailhouse justice until the rape of that kid became such a PR fiasco for the prison here. I am glad I personally don't know if things have changed there much since then.

that is exactly what i have heard, have never served a long sentence but alot of the girls in county told me they would rather be in state bc of the freedoms you have. to me that's another example of our failed system.

where i was i thought it was ridiculous that the GUYS have more freedom than the Females bc one of the male inmates attacked and raped a girl that as walking around the grounds on her own, so now all of the WOMAN need escorts, but the men do not? that seems to be the opposite preventative measure that should have been taken IMO. Punish the men they are the problem!

This is exactly true for florida, I know cause I did 3 1/2 years of state prison time and about 2 years altogether of county time. But from conversations with guards i had while in prison, I have been told that female prisons are worse. Apparently the females are meaner than the dudes, fight more, and rape each other with objects. Not only that but they almost all get their periods at the same time. how sick is that?
