yeah that's how they met.
and yeah it's a love story. a depressing one, hahaha... i love that movie. i got it for $5.99 at wal*mart, can you believe that? it was like finding a diamond in the rough.

kind of confused me the first time, but the basic gist of it is that tom cruise's character meets penelope cruz's character at his 35th birthday bash. his friend with benefits (cameron diaz) shows up uninvited; she notices that he's all about sofia (penelope cruz) and gets jealous/upset. i can't remember tom cruise's characters name, but he and sofia end up going to sofia's apartment together; they have a little romantic evening, and then he leaves to find cameron's character parked around the corner. they drive around, she professes her love for him and goes crazy and drives her car off of a bridge; she dies, but tom survives but with disfiguration. he actually dies of a painkiller overdose but is cryogenically frozen in hopes that he could live again in the future. the scenes where he's talking to the psychologist with the mask, him getting his face fixed, killing sofia, etc. is just dream sequences.

sorry if i spoiled the movie to those who wanted to watch, whoops! i love mindfuck movies like that...

My favorite movie is "Serial Mom." What a fun movie!!!
