perspective on something you make...

Post by hydra »

how is this gained? even after not listening to something for awhile, i feel like i have zero perspective on anything ive made, and have no idea how anyone else hears it...

oh to be able to trade ears with someone for a day to hear some of my productions...

what is a proper way to really be able to hear your tracks (hear if it is mixed proplery, hear the progression, the levels, etc) with a different perspective?

the car stereo helps me sometimes, what do you do?

i listen to my projects on my shitty work speakers , my home stereo ,and my car stereo. Between those 3 i have a good idea on how something is sitting in the mix. I also have a settiing on my sound card called monitor mixer and it gives me a lil bit of diff sound as well. something ive come to learn is if it sounds really close to me then its prob spot on.
