Mp3 vs Wav

Post by J Swift »

I currently download tracks here and there from beatport and right now i download them under the mp3 320 rate. They also have an option where you can have the tracks burned for you in wav format to CD. Is the sound significantly better in that wav format compared to just download them in mp3 format?

you wont be able to tell honestly. with such a low compression on the mp3 file the frequencies that get chopped off are probably inaudible. dont sweat the petty, pet the sweaty.

If your going to so any production, you want to get the wav, but like Chadwick said there is not much difference.

320k MP3 sounds get as good. The range that is cut from the file is below 20hz and above 20khz.
